Marian E. (O’Dell) Ellis, 67 of North Attleboro and formerly of Walpole died May 13 in Caritas Norwood Hospital.
Born in Walpole, April 30,1943, the daughter of the late Raymond B. and Pia M. (Ricci) O’Dell, Mrs. Ellis had lived in Walpole until 2001 when she moved to North Attleboro to be near her son and daughter-in-law.
Mrs. Ellis was a 1961 graduate of Walpole High School.
Marian worked part time after school in 1960-61 and then continued after graduation working for the Kendall Company in Walpole until leaving in 1963 and then returned to work for the company from 1965-73 until the company moved to Wellesley.
From 1973-1986 she worked for the Town of Walpole in the Town Administrator’s office and the Town Treasurers’ office.
From 1986-1992 she worked for the Town of Dover. In 1993 until her retirement in 2001, she worked for the County of Norfolk Treasurers office, she held positions in accounts payable and payroll. Until 2008 Marian worked part-time for the North Attleboro Housing Authority.
She enjoyed being with her family and friends.
She is survived b her son, David F. Ellis and his wife Priscilla B. (Martin) Ellis of North Attleboro.
She is also survived by her sisters, Anna M. Modee of Portsmouth, NH, twin sister, of Mary A. Holster of Wrentham, and Rev. Joanne E. Painter of Casco, ME.
She is also survived by her cousin, John J. Cole and his wife, Denise of Everett, four nephews, 3 nieces, three great-nephews, one great-niece and two second cousins.
Her memorial service will held on Saturday, May 22 in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole at 11:00 a.m. Her sister, the Rev. Joanne E. Painter will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Walpole.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday.
