Evelyn Tucker Vaughan, 73, of Tifton died Thursday, May 13, 2010 at her daughter's residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Benji Rowland will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Todd White, Jeff Sumner, Wes Benson, Paul Kinard, Jamie Hancock and Danny Wallace will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Tucker, Ron Carter and John Williams. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 14, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Vaughan was born on September 14, 1936 in Moultrie and was the daughter of Matthew Walter Tucker and Verdie Truett Tucker, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lenton Hendley Vaughan; five brothers; and two sisters. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Vaughan is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Lenton and Regina Vaughan of Tifton and Richard Vaughan of Tifton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kay and Ron Carter of Tifton and Donna Waller of Fitzgerald; one brother, Wayne Tucker of Moultrie; nine grandchildren, Wendy Hancock, Jeff Sumner, Karen Kinard, Dawn Adkins, Katie Benson, Todd White, Greg Vaughan, Chris Vaughan, Torshi Wallace, Matthew Vaughan; and 13 great grandchildren.
