DUDLEY – Irene (Chomicz) Karlowicz, 79, of Dudley, died Tuesday, May 11, in Lanessa Extended Care after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 62 years, John Karlowicz; 2 sons, Tadeusz Karlowicz of Webster and Jerzy Karlowicz and his wife Maryla of Dudley; a daughter, Grace Futoma and her husband Miroslaw of Southington, CT; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Anna Miller, Waclawa Kazaniecki, Wladyslawa and Teodozja Chomicz, all of Poland; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Genowefa “Genia” Karlowicz in 2006.
She was born in Suwalki, Poland, a daughter of Wladyslaw and Regina (Tylenda) Chomicz. She moved to this area in 1976.
Mrs. Karlowicz was a spinner at Anglo Fabrics Company in Webster before retiring in 1995.
She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Bobola Church.
The funeral will be held Friday, May 14, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 1:30 PM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. A calling period will be from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM Friday, May 14, in the funeral home.
