Virginia M. (Bates) Johnson 81, a Medway resident since 1951, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday May 11, 2010, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Wesley H. “Wes” Johnson, who died in 1999.
Born in Bellingham, August 29, 1928 a daughter of the late Warren D. and Maude E. (Jaques) Bates, she was raised and educated in Bellingham. Mrs. Johnson retired from the Medway Country Manor Nursing Home where she worked as a physical therapist for more than 30 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son Wesley H. Johnson Jr. of Plymouth, three daughters; Judith A. Moore of Bellingham, Deborah J. Pittman of Franklin, Pamela J. MacDougall of Medway, a sister; Marjorie Gould of Naples, Fla., eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Donna M. Keirstead-Reed, and the sister of the late Edith E. Sanderson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday May 13th, at 11AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com.
Interment will follow in the family lot in Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:30-11AM.
