Catherine Omega Ellis, 93, Clarksville, died Monday, May 10, 2010, at her residence. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Eric Fowlkes and Father Charles Matthew officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Deacon Dominick Azzara officiating. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born December 1, 1916 in Montgomery County, TN, daughter of the late William Thomas Sheppard and Kate Posey Sheppard Boyd. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty five years, Edward Bailey "Easy" Ellis; two children, Sandra Ellis Hinton and Larry Michael Ellis; two brothers, Richard and A.C. Sheppard; and two sisters, Sadie Hunt and Ruth Anderson. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a charter member of The Parish Council of Catholic Women. She was co-owner of the Hi-Lo Food Market for twenty seven years. Survivors include a son, Terry Ellis (Sara); two daughters. Dianne and Donna Ellis; daughter-in-law, Linda P. Ellis; ten grandchildren: Sabrina Hester (Mark), Cindy Church (Rick), Cathy Wall (Chris), Rusty Ellis (Kathy), Winn Ellis (Cindee), Anna Blackwell (Steve), Merci Chartand (Danny), all of Clarksville; Michelle Rodriquez (Lou), Miami, FL; SHCM US Navy James M. Ellis (Sharon), Chesapeake,VA; Jamie Morris, Colorado; and twenty three great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
