John M. Allen - 1932 Ret. Chaplain (Col) John M. Allen, 78, Clarksville, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Alive Hospice at Skyline, Madison, TN. A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church with full military honors with Father Mickey Richaud, The Rev. Dorothy C. Hartsog, and Father Eric Thompson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 3 p.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the church. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born March 13, 1932 in West Palm Beach, FL son of the late Thomas Robards Allen, Sr. and Maggie Ouida Ragsdale Allen. He was also preceded in death by four brothers. He retired from the US Army and served with the 101st in Vietnam. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and served as the Pastoral Associate there from 1999 to 2002. Survivors include his wife, Betty Eads Allen; three sons, John C. Allen (Sally), Hopkinsville, KY; Stephen H. Allen (Melinda),Springfield, TN, and Paul H. Allen (Jill), Clarksville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
