TAUNTON/HARWICH – Julia (Prado) Vaz, wife of the late Louis Vaz and the late William Silvia, died at the Epoch Senior Healthcare Center of Harwich, on May 6, 2010.
She was 102 years old.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Joaquin C. and Frances (Ramos) Prado.
Raised and educated in Taunton, she was a 1924 graduate of Taunton High School.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, Mrs. Vaz worked for a while as a secretary for the former Glenwood Range, and the former BayBank.
A former communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton, she was a resident of the Harwich area for the past nine years.
She leaves a daughter, Frances M. (Silvia) Ulak of Dennisport; two grandchildren, William Ulak Roberson of Middleboro, and Suzanne Ulak Mowery of Jamestown, PA; and three great grandchildren, Alexander L. Ulak, Patrick T. Mowery, and Elizabeth Julia Mowery, children of Suzanne.
She was also the sister of the late Manuel, Joseph, Jack and Ernest Prado, Annie Gadry and Mary Eckhert.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 438 Middleboro Ave. East Taunton, on Monday, May 10th at 11 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Interment will follow at Pinehill Cemetery in East Taunton.
