Helen R. (Dooley) O’Connor died on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at the Maristhill Nursing Home in Waltham after a brief illness. She was 90 years old. Helen was the beloved wife of the late William J. O’Connor.She was born in Winchester on August 25, 1913 a daughter of the late Mathew and Mary Dooley. Helen was raised in Winchester and graduated Winchester High School. She then moved to Medford to raise her family before moving on to Burlington in 1968.She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and active in the parish with the Mother’s Club and the St. Joseph’s Band.Helen and her husband William took great pride in gardening and enjoying planting.She was the loving mother of two children, William J. and his wife Lisa X. O’Connor of Burlington and the late Ann G. O’Connor. She was the devoted sister of Elizabeth Bresnahan of Winchester. Helen is also survived by several nieces and nephews.Funeral from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in the St. Joseph’s Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours Tuesday, October 28, 2003 from 4 to 8 p.m.
