Joseph F. Thornton, of West Roxbury passed away on May 6, 2010. He was 91 years old.
Born in Boston, Joseph was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School. After high school he served in the United States Army during World War II. Following the war, Joseph worked for over 25 years for the City of Boston Traffic Department, mainly repairing parking meters.
Joseph was the loving son of the late Patrick and Barbara (Monaghan) Thornton. Dear brother of the late Katherine J. Anderson and John Thornton. Dear uncle of Kenneth Anderson of West Roxbury, Gerald Anderson and his wife Hannah of Mansfield, and Lawrence Anderson and his wife Sharon of Bridgewater. He is also survived by 5 great nieces and nephews.
Joseph's Funeral Mass was held at St. John Chrysostom Church on Monday May 10, 2010.

Interment concluded services at Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston.
