Methuen, MA – Vita R. (D’Antonio) Ortenzio, 92, died at home Thursday May 6, 2010 with her loving family by her side.
Vita was born in Lawrence the daughter of Philip and Alfia (Sapienza) D’Antonio. Mrs. Ortenzio was a graduate of Lawrence High School and for many years she had been employed as a clothes cutter with Greico Brothers and then Bronzetti clothing before retiring after 40 years in the garment industry.
Mrs. Ortenzio was a communicant of Saint Lucy’s Church in Methuen.
She took pride in her family first, and enjoyed vegetable gardening, knitting and crocheting. Vita was a very talented cook, and enjoyed spending summers with her family at Salisbury Beach.
A longtime Lawrence and Methuen resident Vita was the widow of Christy Ortenzio, and is survived by two son’s Philip and Stephen, both of Methuen, two grandchildren Stephen Artemis of Haverhill and Gina Ortenzio of Orlando, Florida, one great-grandson Stephen Artemis, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday morning at 10 o’clock in Saint Lucy’s Church of Methuen with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends will be warmly received on Sunday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
