Obituary

OXFORD___Richard B. Laukaitis, 67, of 19 Sherwood Dr., died Friday Oct. 24 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

He leaves his wife, Doreen L. (Gruber) Wright – Laukaitis; four sons, Joseph J. Laukaitis of Lehigh Acres, FL., Kevin J. Sweeney of Auburn; Richard J. Wright of Worcester and Martin E. Wright of Millbury; three daughters, Cheryl Ann Laukaitis of Worcester and Lisa M. Nussbaum and Monica A. Greelish both of Auburn; a brother, Philip P. Laukaitis of Spencer; seven sisters, Ann V. Jandron and Cynthia P. Vassar both of Millbury; Louise P. Mason and Carol J. Russell both of Oxford; Janet C. Cecchi of Milford and Geraldine P. Buckley and Pamela T. Lemieux both of Worcester; 14 grandchildren and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers, Pfc Joseph Laukaitis, USMC, and Paul Laukaitis. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of Joseph J. and Anna A. (Bendoraitis) Laukaitis and later lived in Auburn before coming to Oxford 13 years ago.

Mr. Laukaitis was a sheet metal worker 43 years with the Sheet Metal Workers Local 63 and retired in 1998. He was graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 63, Springfield.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday Oct. 28 with a service at 10 a.m. in Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St., Worcester. The Reverend Thomas G. Landry will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday Oct. 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
