Obituary

Mary E. (Smyth) Kelly, 81, died peacefully, Wednesday, May 5, 2010, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of 59 years of Edward J. Kelly. Born in Stoughton, she was a lifelong resident of Stoughton and a graduate of St. John’s School in Canton. She also was a graduate of Fisher Jr. College. Mrs. Kelly was a homemaker. She also worked at Anton’s Cleaners in Stoughton for many years and was a volunteer at West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, swimming, reading, helping people and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Patricia Standish and her husband Myles, James F. Kelly and Thomas E. Kelly all of Stoughton and Theresa Kelly of Norton. She was the grandmother of Kim Mylonas, Karen Standish, Danielle, Kristen and Shannon Kelly. She was the great grandmother of Steven Mylonas, Hailey and Hannah McNeil. She was the sister of the late Thomas Smyth, Stoughton Police, Ret.
Funeral prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, May 8 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Mary’s name may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, 02168.
