Gilford-----Ethel M. Bean, 96, of Saltmarsh Pond Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Tuesday, May 4, 2010. Mrs. Bean was the widow of Harry D. Bean who died in July, 1965.
Mrs. Bean was born November 1, 1913 in Sanbornton, NH, the daughter of Roscoe H. and Mildred M. (Southwick) Dalton. She was a longtime resident of Gilford.
Mrs. Bean loved reading and was the caregiver for her extended family.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Harry A. and Thelma Bean, a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Russell Conway; fourteen grandchildren, Susan Weeks, Frances Howe, Kurt Gould, Kevin Newlen, Karen Newlen, Kris Sylvester, Kelly Newlen, Harry H. Bean, Rocky Bean, Danel Bean, Ronny Bean, Cindy Murphy, Tammy Dunn and Sheri Dow; many great grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Bean was predeceased by a daughter, Marjorie E. Newlen, in February, 2010, by a grandson, Brian Bean, by a great granddaughter and great grandson, by her brothers and sisters, Hal Dalton, Harold Dalton, Raymond “Pete” Dalton, Beatrice Blackey, Edna Lavoie and Hildred “Bunny” Albertelli, and by her companion, Clarence Frederick.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 11:00AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, N.H.
