John A. Foley, III age 57 of Brockton died unexpectedly Tuesday May 4, 2010 surrounded by his family at Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital. John was the devoted husband and best friend for 38 years of Michelle A. (Frederick) Foley. He was born and raised in Dorchester a son of the late Marie (McKenna) and John A. Foley, Jr. and was a 1969 graduate of North Quincy High School. Since 1972 he had been a resident of Brockton.
John was a retired millwright with Local 1121 of Boston and had served in the Massachusetts National Guard. In his retirement he enjoyed helping his sons and most especially spending time with his grandchildren. He loved reading the newspaper with an iced coffee and solving the crossword puzzles.
John was the best friend to his two sons John A. Foley, IV and his wife Nicole of Rockland and Brandon P. Foley and his wife Rebecca of Brockton. He was the loving Papa to his adored grandchildren Madison Ann and Cole Patrick Foley.
Visitation in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 10 am-12:30 pm with a Funeral Service at 12:30 pm. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers please consider donations in John’s name to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
