Obituary

Dr. Jan Garrett Kloek, 75, Clarksville, formerly of Memphis, TN, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Grace Healthcare Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Jamie Mandrell officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service Sunday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born May 8, 1934 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin son of the late George H. Kloek, JD and Lucy M. Stadler Kloek. He was a well known Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Tennessee Medical School , a Psychiatrist at Memphis Mental Health Institute and East View Hospital. He also had a private practice medical office. For all that knew Dr. Jan Kloeck, he was a great man with the kindest heart. He will be remembered as a brilliant doctor that gave great care to all his patients. He was a pioneer with treating ADD and ADHD and his work helped many in the Memphis Community. He will be greatly missed by all family and friends. He served in the US Navy. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Warren Kloek; three sons, Jeff Kloek (Myra Lynn), Dr. Scott Kloek (Nicole), and Randy Kloek (Lauren) all of Memphis, TN; three step-sons, Dr. Stephen Kent (Vicki), Clarksville; John Kent, Sparta, TN; and Roy Kent, Memphis, TN; a step-daughter, Lynn Bozof (Michael), Hernando, MS; a brother, Ricky Kloek, Maui, HI; three grandchildren, Graham, Drew, and Shannon Kloek; six step-grandchildren and one God child, Garrett Hughes.
