Obituary

Geraldine A. Wenners, 63, of Manchester died May 3, 2010 at the Elliot Hospital after a period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester on July 11, 1946, the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Richardson) Gildea. She attended McDonald Grammar School, Memorial High School and received her degree from Hesser Business College.
Most recently, she had been employed by the State of NH Labor Department. Previously, she had worked at the Telephone Workers’ Credit Union and Notre Dame College.
Gerri had an easy-going nature and loved to spend time at the beach and watching sporting events. Above all else, she found her greatest joy spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves her lovingly supportive partner, David Wenners of Manchester, whom she married on April 5, 1971; her son, Michael Wenners and his fiancée Jennifer Darby along with her daughters Mary and Holly, all of Hooksett; her daughter, Christine Wenners Blais and her husband Christian Blais and their daughter Riley Catherine Blais, all of Manchester; one brother, Brian Gildea of Hollywood, FL; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vincent and Judy Wenners of Manchester; her nephew, Doug Wenners and his wife Helen Wenners and their daughters, Caroline, Elizabeth, and Eleanor Wenners of Bedford; her niece, Mary Ellen Wenners Morse and her husband Tyler Morse and their sons, Jack, Joseph, and James, all of Rye, NH; her close friend Patty Fitzpatrick of Manchester; and her many friends from Notre Dame College and at the NH Kidney Center.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Pius X Church, Candia Road, on Friday, May 7, 2010. Committal prayers followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal St, Manchester, NH 03101.
