Obituary

Jeannette Poisson, 90, of Sayles Hill Rd., Manville, died peacefully Sunday morning at The Holiday in Manville with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Aram Poisson. They were married for 66 years at the time of his passing in 2008. She was the mother of the late Dennis A. Poisson who died in 2005.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Celina (Salvas) Godin. She was raised in Woonsocket and resided in Manville for over 65 years.
Mrs. Poisson was employed by General Instruments in Woonsocket for several years, and later by Texas Instruments in Attleboro for many years before retiring. She was a longtime communicant of St. James Parish.
Jeannette will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crafts and participating in various activities in her parish and the community. She was devoted to her extended family and cherished spending time with them.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Susan Poisson of Harrisville, her two grandchildren, Michael Poisson of California, and Leanne Poisson of Harrisville. She was the sister of Lucienne Pierel of Cumberland, and the late Robert, Philip, Joseph, Alberic, Jean Baptiste, and Omer Godin, Marie Plasse, Emelia Parenteau, Rose Pelletier, and Christiana Laquerre. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St.., Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Thursday morning from 8:15-9:30 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket.
