Obituary

BROCKTON, MA-Norman V. Joyal, 80, of 4201 Brennan Court, Salida, CA formerly of N. Oxford, died Friday, October 24th in the VA Medical Center. He leaves a brother Francis G. Joyal of Auburn, a sister; Constance Perry of Wareham; several nephews and nieces. His first wife, Kathleen (Comier) Joyal died in 1975, a daughter, Catherine Joyal in 1976 and his second wife, Ann (Terry) Joyal in 1992.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Leon and Lillian (Patenaude) Joyal and graduated from Commerce High School. He was an army veteran of WWII serving in the European Theater and was held as a prisoner of war in Germany and was awarded 2 Bronze Stars. Mr. Joyal was postmaster for the United States Postal Service in N. Oxford for many years retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Postmaster Assoc. and POW Assoc.

There are no funeral services. Mr. Joyal donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Program at Boston University School of Medicine. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 N. Main Street, Natick, MA 01760. O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue is handling the arrangements.
