TAUNTON – Barbara A. (Barone)Foster, wife of Stephen R. Foster of Taunton, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on May 2, 2010.
She was 59.
Born in Central Falls, RI, she was the daughter of Barbara A. (Duggan) Barone of S. Attleboro and the late Nicholas A. Barone.
Raised and educated in Rhode Island, and a 1968 graduate of Tolman High School in Pawtucket, she was a Taunton resident for the past 20 years.
Mrs. Foster worked as a customer service representative for Texas Instruments for over 20 years, retiring several years ago due to disability.
She had also been employed by several medical firms as a customer service representative.
A communicant of the former St. Jacques Church, in Taunton, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, taught CCD, and was a bereavement councilor, Mrs. Foster was also a member of the Taunton River Chapter of the U.S. Power Squadron, the Taunton Area Communications Group; and was a TEMA volunteer.
In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, but was happiest when enjoying time with her grandchildren.
Besides her husband and mother, she leaves a daughter, Nichole T. Briggs and her husband Paul of Taunton; two grandchildren, Paige and Allie Briggs, both of Taunton; two brothers, Arthur Barone of Central Falls, RI, and Ronald Barone of Attleboro; two sisters, Linda Kropis of Seekonk and Sandra Fredette of Attleboro; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, May 6th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Jude the Apostle Church (formerly St. Jacques Church), Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 5th, from 5 to 8 p.m.
