Sister Georgine (Theresa) Luther CSC, 72, of Manchester, died October 24, at Dartmouth Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Hawk Run PA on October 16, 1931, she was the daughter of Martin and Susan(Kardohely) Luther.
Sister entered the School of St. Francis, Bellevue PA in 1945. She held many positions within the order until she transferred to the Congregation of Holy Cross in September of 1992.
In 1963 sister received a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from Our Lady of the Lake San Antonio TX; In 1973 she received a Master of Science in Library Science from Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio TX;
In 1978 she received a degree in practical nursing from Community College of Allegheny County Pittsburgh PA; in 1984 she received a diploma in Gerontology Program from St. Mary of the Woods, College IN.
Sister was the secretary of student activies at Notre Dame College from 1987-1999, and worked for the Southern NH Services fuel assistance program from 1999-2000. Most recently she was part of the volunteer staff at the Retired Senior VolunteerProgram, in Nashua.
Family members include four sisters, Mary Bunyak, of Grassflat PA, Marcella Love, of Houtzdale PA, Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Frank of Pittsford, NY, and Delores Zelenky, of Grassflat, PA; 2 brothers, Vincent and his wife Virgina Luther, of Bellefonte, PA, Fred andhis wife Marion Luther, of Hawk Run, PA; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in 1995 by a brother William Luther.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday October 28, 2003 in the Chapel of St. George Manor.Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery, Beech St. Manchester.
