WORCESTER-George Vangelidis, 94, of Worcester died peacefully Saturday, May 1st in the Blaire House of Worcester. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Fotini (Pourris) Vangelidis; a daughter, Victoria and her husband Jim Papas; two grandsons, Matthew Papas and Gary Papas all of Thornhill, Ontario, Canada.
Mr. Vangelidis was born in Istanbul, Turkey the son of Aristides and Zembulia Vangeloglu and had lived here for 43 years. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, the Order of AHEPA Seniors and had worked at Table Talk Pie Co. for many years as a processor until his retirement in 1983.
The funeral is Tuesday, May 4th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:30 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, May 3rd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
