Obituary

SALEM- Emily H. (Hare) Johnson, 73, wife of the late Philip J. Johnson, of Salem, died Friday morning, October 24, 2003, in the Union Hospital, Lynn, following a long illness.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late William and Freda W (Kierstead) Hare and was a lifelong resident of the city.

She was a Past Worthy Matron in the Salem Chapter #98, the Order of Eastern Star and a Past Worthy High Priestess in the Bethlehem Shrine #5, Order of The White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur Hare and Harold Hare, and four sisters, Grace M. Pierce, Dorothy I. Richards, Marion E. Hare and Ethel C. Latinik.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at 11 am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Monday, 6 to 8 pm. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
