La Mesa, CA - Grace (Moe) Forsberg Lonnroth, 97, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 in La Mesa, California. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Carl Frederick Forsberg and her husband of 9 years, Russel Lonnroth; her brother, John Moe; and her sister and brother-in-law, Eldora and Mike Sushchyk.
She leaves two daughters, Judith Chalifoux of Durham, NH, Susan Rand of La Mesa, CA, and one step-daughter, Nancy Lonnroth Iatrides of Cheshire, CT; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a niece and two nephews. She was devoted to and loved by them all.
Grace was born in Worcester, MA, daughter of Gustaf and Signe Moe, and was educated at South High and Post Business Schools. She was a legal secretary at the law firm of McCabe, Walker and Wasgatt. She was a lifelong member of Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir and the Women's Society; in Shrewsbury she attended the Congregational Church. She was an enthusiastic Nereid swimmer, bowler, walker and blood donor.
A truly gracious woman, Grace made friends everywhere she went, as people were attracted to her sunny smile, loving personality, innate goodness and her grateful heart. A brave woman, she moved from NH to CA at age 97. She will be missed by all who knew her in MA, NH and CA.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 14 in All Faith's Cemetery, 7 Island Road, Worcester, MA. It was Grace's wish that any memorial donation be made to the general fund of Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins St, Worcester, MA 01607-1330.
