Virginia Barton Young, 85, of Tampa, Florida, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 in Tampa.
Funeral services will be held 4 P.M., Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Arp Baptist Church with Rev. J.W. Taylor and Rev. Tommy Land, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Mrs. Young was born November 16, 1924 in Wilcox County, Georgia to the late Dan D. and Isadora Phillips Barton. She was a graduate of Mystic High School and South Georgia College. Mrs. Young was a former purchasing director for Mead Paper Company. She was an active member of Grace Evangelical Church in Tampa, pastored by David Pointer whose love and support along with that of her church family enabled her to live in her home through the last months of her illness.
Mrs. Young is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Diane Youngblood and Neal Kohlhaas of Orange, CA; son: Richard Young of Tampa, FL; and a sister: Dannelle Barton of San Diego, CA. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny Young.
