PORT CHARLOTTE, FL - Doris J. (Sinclair) Anderson, age 78, of Dracut, formerly of Tewksbury and Bristol, NH, died Tuesday, April 27,at the Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, following an apparent stroke last Saturday, while vacationing in Florida. She was the beloved wife of the late Ben Anderson, who died in 1996.
She was born in Cambridge, MA, on December 17, 1931, one of ten children of the late Edgar and Mabel (Veinot) Sinclair. She was raised in the Allston section of Boston and graduated from Allston High School.
She was well known in the restaurant business as an employee of Donut Village in Wilmington, MA, Raytheon Company's Cafe in Bedford, and later as owner of B's Restaurant in Bristol, NH. She and her husband also owned the Bristol 5 and 10 store in Bristol, NH, and as a resident of Tewksbury, operated Anderson's Salvage Yard on Shawsheen Street, now operated as Wings Salvage.
She is survived by eight children, Gary Anderson and his wife Cheryl of Billerica, Lynn Anderson of Derry, NH, Donna Duval and her husband Roland of Haverhill, Susanne Brousseau of Port Charlotte, FL, John Anderson and his wife Pam of Missouri, Scott Anderson and his wife Isla of Pelham, NH, Brenda Peavey and her husband Alden Sr. of Dracut, and Anita Bishop of New Ipswich, NH; nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and three surviving siblings, Beverly Cripps and her husband Kenneth of Wilmington, Judy Mills and her husband Jack of AZ, Edgar Sinclair of FL.
She was also the sister and care-giver of the late Ray Sinclair.
Her Funeral Service was held Wednesday, May 5, in the Funeral Home, followed by burial in Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St, Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843 will be appreciated.
