In Lakeville, April 26, 2010 Mary E. (Simmons) Talbot, age 80, died peacefully at the Island Terrace Nursing Home while surrounded by her loving family. Mary was the wife of the late Herbert C. Talbot. She was born in Dighton to her late parents George & Elizabeth Ann (Ault) Simmons. She was educated in Dighton schools and a graduate of the former Dighton High School. Mary enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and was a devoted and dedicated homemaker to her family, and in later years cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Mary is survived by her children Ellen Talbot of North Dighton, Elizabeth A. Fernandes and her husband Mark of Taunton. Joan Woods and her husband Woody of North Dighton and James E. Talbot and his wife Nadine of Taunton. Mary was the Grandmother of seven and great Grandmother of two. Mary leaves her siblings Carolyn M. Booth of North Dighton, Alma Taylor of Taunton, Carlton Simmons of Lakeville, Gordon Simmons of Taunton,George Simmons of Dighton and the late Marjorie Reed. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the direction of the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA. Funeral services are private at the request of the family and visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
