CHARLTON-Donald J. Thompson, 40, of Charlton, died Friday, April 23rd in UMass Memorial Healthcare Center. He leaves his wife of 5 ½ years, Lisa A. (Mandel) Thompson, whom he had been together with for 15 ½ years; his son, Troy D. Thompson of Charlton; his stepson, David A. Grady of Charlton; his stepdaughter, Catelin A. Mandel of Southbridge; his father, Donald R. Thompson and his wife Jill A. (Van Dyke) Thompson of North Grosvenordale, CT; his brother, Richard P. Thompson and his wife Sandy of Oxford; his stepsister, Tiffany M. Rousseau of North Grosvenordale, CT; his granddaughter, Elizabeth J. Sweeney of Southbridge; his sister-in-law, Betty Mckinnon of Linwood; his brother-in-law, William Mandel of Spencer; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Thompson was born in Worcester, the son of the late Frances E. (Rafferty) Thompson. He was a 1987 graduate of Oxford High School. Mr. Thompson was a shipping manager for Cameron Valves and Measurement in Millbury for 9 years. He enjoyed canoeing, shooting pool, camping and brewing and labeling his own beer and especially enjoyed time spent with his family.
The funeral is Wednesday, April 28th with a service at 11:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 27th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
