Maurice J. Finnegan of Melrose formerly of Woburn passed away April 22nd at the EPOCH Senior Healthcare Center in Melrose following a lengthy illness. He was 79 years of age. Born in Woburn he was the son of the late Leo F. and Josephine (Conners) Finnegan.
Mr. Finnegan was a Woburn resident for the majority of his life. He was Woburn High School graduate with the class of 1950 and was very active in sports through out his life. He also enjoyed music and loved singing. Mr. Finnegan also enjoyed weight lifting, being outdoors and hiking.
In addition to his late parents, He is preceded in death by his sister, the late Pauline Tarky, and brothers, the late Leo and John Finnegan. He is survived by his sons, James Finnegan of Boston and Steven Finnegan of California. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Dolan of Lexington and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Tuesday, April 27th, at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the funeral Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
