Brockton – George Lewis Nix Jr., a long time Taunton resident, died Wednesday April 21st 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Mary (McGuire) Nix. He was born in Quincy, Ma. Son of the late George Lewis Nix Sr. and Alice (Mossberg) Nix. He was educated in Weymouth, Ma. Mr. Nix worked at D.J. Sullivan Collision as an auto body mechanic for many years. He supported the NRA. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Richard Nix of Plympton, Ma and David Nix of Bridgewater, Ma, three daughters, Vicki Christensen of Rockland, Ma, Nancy Newell of Marshfield, Ma and Danielle Maxim of Taunton, Ma. He was predeceased by one son George A. Nix. He was also the loving brother of Caroline Hoffman of New Hampshire. He also leaves fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visiting hours for Mr. Nix Sunday April 25th 2010 from 2-5pm at the Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo Street (off Tremont St). Burial will be private at his request.
