PAXTON-Alexandros Voyiatzis, 77, of Paxton died Tuesday, April 20th in St. Vincent Hospital. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Garifalia (Voyiatzis) Voyiatzis; a son, Athanasios Voyiatzis and his wife, Anna of Paxton; a daughter, Chrysanthi Hatzopoulos and her husband, Trifon of Worcester; three brothers, George, Iordanis and Theodosis Voyiatzis all of Holden; two granddaughters, Irene Koutromanos of Uxbridge and Phyllis Gertsios of Paxton; five great grandchildren, Alexandros, Ioannis, Tryphon, Fotini and Loukia; many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Ioannis Voyiatzis and a grandson, Alexandros Voyiatzis.
He was born in Greece, son of Dimitrios and Chrysanthi (Alexiadis) Voyiatzis and came to the United States in 1970. Mr. Voyiatzis was a successful businessman owning many restaurants in Massachusetts and South Carolina. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the Cultural Center of Hrisohorafiton.
The funeral is Friday, April 23rd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a service at 10:30 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Thursday, April 22nd from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
