Augusta "Gussie" (Abreu) Travers, 89, of New Bedford died April 19, 2010 at Silver Creek Manor Nursing Center in Bristol, RI.
She was the former wife of the late Edmond Travers.
Born in Dartmouth, the daughter of the late Frank and Maria (Fernandes) Abreu, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Ms. Travers was formerly employed by Paul Modes Clothing Manufacturing for many years until her retirement.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Janice Travers of New Bedford, Darnyl Vieira of Bristol, RI, and Geraldine Rebello of Spartanberg, SC; 2 sisters, Katherine Silva of New Bedford and Lorraine Michaud of Somerset; 4 grandchildren, Beth-Ann Sousa, Peter Vieira, Christopher Rebello, and Matthew Rebello; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Saturday, April 24th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Dartmouth at 10 AM. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday, April 23rd from 5-8 PM.
