Noland J. Fagerburg, 85, of East Peoria passed away at 1:45am Monday April 19, 2010 at Washington Christian village.
He was born on December 3, 1924 the son of Alfred and Jessie Noland Fagerburg. He married Leona Williams on March 30, 1946 in Elton, KY. She passed away on October 20, 1994.
Surviving are five sons Rick (Cindy) of Eureka; Tim (Mary Ann) of Vicksburg, MS; David (Pat) of East Peoria; James of Chillicothe and Joe (Sherry) of Morton. He is further survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren as well as two brothers Del (Bebe) of San Francisco, CA and Frank of Greenlake, WI; one sister Josephine (Dr. Paul) Theobald of Normal. He was preceded in death by two brothers Alfred and Paulie and one sister Vanita McHenry.
Noland was an honorably discharged US Army Air Corp Veteran serving in WWII. He worked as a mechanic for Caragher Buick in Morton. He then worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Morton retiring in 1985 as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the VFW post 2078 in East Peoria, the American Legion, the Greater Peoria AMVETS Post 64 in Peoria and the Morton Masonic Lodge #352 AF & AM.
Cremation Rites have been accorded with private services scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in his name to Washington Christian Village. Affordable Funeral & Cremation Services of Central Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
