Bertha Yanoff (Brooks) of Swampscott and formerly of Chelsea died on April 19, 2010. She was 89 years old. Bertha was the devoted wife of the late Louis Yanoff.
Bertha was born in Boston and attended the Chelsea schools, graduating from Chelsea High School. She was the owner of Cottage Yarns in the Park Square Building in Boston. In recent years, she helped run Eye of the Tiger Karate in Swampscott. Bertha was very dedicated to her family and in her spare time was an avid Bingo player.
Bertha was the devoted mother of Michael Yanoff and his wife Susan and Howard Yanoff and his wife Audrey. She was the dear sister of the late David Brooks and Phyllis Ferman. Bertha was the loving grandmother of Beth and her husband Dennis Cleary, Randy Yanoff and his wife Kathy, Jennifer and her husband Jason Silva, and Danni Yanoff. She was the dear great grandmother of Max, Ashley, Brady, and Dylan.
Graveside services at Linas Hatzedek #2 Cemetery, 232 Fuller St., Everett, on Wednesday, April 21st at 11:00 AM. Memorial observance will be private. Donations in Bertha’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
