Obituary

Edward J. Wheeler, 76, a proud Veteran of the US Navy, died Saturday, April 17, at his home in Stoughton, after a short illness. He was the husband of Leona M. (Muliero) Wheeler. Born in Boston, he was raised in Hyde Park and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. Mr. Wheeler was a Veteran of the US Navy from 1956-1961. He was a resident of Stoughton for over 44 years. Mr. Wheeler worked as a machinist at the Northrup Corporation in Norwood for 31 years and retired in 1995. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, going to the beach, dogs and spending time with his family. He also was a fan of the Red Sox and Patriots and loved to laugh.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Carol A. Malzenski and her husband Edward of Brewster, Joseph M. Wheeler of Stoughton and Mark E. Wheeler of Middleboro. He was the brother of Mary O’Connell of Hyde Park, Thomas Wheeler of N. Easton, Joan McLellan of Brewster, Nancy Guide of Winthrop and the late Robert, George and Ruth Wheeler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, April 21 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at the VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Due to floral restrictions at the cemetery, the Wheeler family has asked that donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the Caritas Hospice, 3 Edgewater Dr., Norwood, 02062.
