Mrs. Paula (Mountain) Johnson, 99, of 26 Sweden Street, Berlin, NH passed away on Friday evening April 16, 2010 at her home. She was born in Lowell, MA on June 24, 1910 the daughter of Everett R. and Ethel (Lovejoy) Mountain and lived in Lowell, MA and Winchester, MA prior to moving to Berlin in 1965. She was a graduate of Lowell High School and the Massachusetts College of Art in Brookline, MA and Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. She owned the Log Cabin Yarn Shop, was active for many years as a Girl Scout Leader and served on the Swift Water Council. She was a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a member of the Eastern Star of Berlin.
Members of the family include her daughter Carla West of Berlin, NH; 5 granddaughters Babben R. Kulbacki, Christina E. Bilodeau, Deborah J. West, Erica L. West and Olivia M. Coulombe; 11 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband Roy N. Johnson.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Norway St., Berlin, NH on Thursday April 22, 2010 at 1 PM. Interment will be in the New City Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave, Berlin, on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
