Obituary

Mr. David L. Westgate, of Taunton, died Friday, April 16 in the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton, following a brief illness. He was born 75 years ago in Raynham, the son of the late Norman and Mildred (Taylor) Westgate. He was educated in Taunton and was a graduate of Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, Ma. He had been an area resident for most of his life. He had been employed as a teacher in the Town of Plymouth School System for a number of years. He had also taught in Burlington, Vt., Middleboro, Ma. and at the Juvenile Facility at Taunton State Hospital. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Mr. Westgate loved oil painting and was interested in history.
He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Taunton, where he enjoyed singing in the church choir.
He leaves:
1 son: Sean Westgate of Ft.Lauderdale, Fla.
1 daughter: Kristin Hebert of Taunton
4 grandchildren: Tamara Westgate, Kimberly Westgate, Kyle Hebert, Andrew Hebert
3 stepgrandchildren: Amanda, Jared and Joshua Hebert
several nieces and nephews
Mr. Westgate was also the brother of the late Sally Coutts.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 109 Winthrop Street, on Thursday, April 22, at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are
under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.
