Wheatley, Joseph, 86, returned to his Heavenly Father on April 15, 2010.
Mr. Wheatley was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, and had retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company where he was a member of the union. He was a member of City Road Chapel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Whitehouse Wheatley; his five stepchildren, Eddie (Ginger), Steve, Jerry (Ted), and Carl (Diane) Whitehouse, and Marylou Moore (Joe); 27 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces, Joanna Gatlin (John) and Peggy Binder (Ken); and many other family and friends who will miss him.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Visitation will be Saturday 2:00 – 8:00 pm and Sunday 12:00 noon – 8:00 pm
