Jeanne T. Finnegan, 80, passed away at the Wakefield Care and Rehabilitation Center on April 15th, 2010. She was born on April 29th, 1929 to her parents John J. and Margaret M. (Harrington) Barry. Jeanne was raised in Malden and Medford and is a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1948. As a young adult, she worked as a clerk at the State House in Boston for over 10 years. After raising her children, she returned to the work force as a clerk for New England Telephone. She began in the Boston Headquarters and later retired from the Wakefield office after 15 years of service. Jeanne has been a resident of Melrose for over 40 years and was a communicant at Incarnation Parish in Melrose. She is survived by her daughters; Mary Margaret Doyle and her husband Michael of Merrimac and Kathleen M. McCarron and her husband John of Melrose; and by her grandchildren Michael Jr., Maura and Caitlin Doyle and Catherine, Brigid and Deirdre McCarron. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by her husband William H. Finnegan and by her siblings Mary M. Bjornson, Barbara L. Barry, Paul Barry, Thomas Barry and John J. Barry Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Tuesday April 20th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Incarnation Church, 429 Upham St., Melrose at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in West Peabody. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday April 19th from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472. Jeanne’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff and caregivers at the Wakefield Care and Rehabilitation Center for the unparalleled care she received over the past year.
