Abington – C. Gloria (LaLiberte) Olson 89, a resident of Abington for over 62 years died Tuesday April 13 in her Abington home and surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Olson.
Born and raised in Brockton she was the daughter of the late Philias and Cecelia (Lucier) LaLiberte and a graduate of Brockton High.
Gloria had worked as a hairdresser in Brockton before her move to Abington in 1948. She along with her husband Ernest ran the O & C Oil Company of Abington and later the familiar Abington Country Store, retiring in 1987 to live with their loving daughter Sheila and granddaughter Michelle.
She truly enjoyed being a homemaker and cooking for her children and many grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children Sheila Trainor of Abington, Ernest Olson and his wife Janice of Abington, Steven Olson of Maine and Harold Olson and his wife Linda of Florida, her beloved granddaughter Michelle Tavares as well as 7 other grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 5 nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Gerald LaLiberte.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday April 17 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Abington. Visiting hours will be held Friday April 16 from 4-8 PM. Donations in her name may be made to the Hospice of South Shore 100 Bay Drive / Box 9060 Braintree, MA 02184
