Maria da Encarnacao (Arruda) Arruda, age 78 passed away April 13, 2010. Widow of Joao Sousa Arruda and daughter of the late Edmund and Maria (Dos Santos) Arruda, she was born in Santo Antonio, Alem Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores. She was a member of St. Michael Church and was a retired seamstress.
She is survived by 3 children: Analia Tavares & her husband Hildeberto of Fall River, John Daniel Arruda & his wife Suzanne of Somerset and Arthur Arruda of Fall River; 4 siblings: Serafin Arruda of Fall River, Antone Ferreira of Bridgewater, Maria Velho of Fall River and Conceicao Farias of NC; 5 grandchildren: Thomas, Lisa, Samantha, Dylan, & Brandan; 2 great grandchildren: Silas John and Ryan John and several nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Friday at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 5-8 PM. www.rogersfuneral.com.
