John W. `Sunny` Edwards, Jr., 93, Clarksville, died Monday, April 12, 2010, at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Father Eric Lee Fowlkes officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born July 21, 1916 in Clarksville, TN son of the late John W. Edwards, Sr. and May Miller Edwards. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Riley Edwards and two sisters, Madeline Cayce and Jean McCollum. Mr. Edwards was the former owner of Riley Hardware. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He served in the US Navy during WW II. Survivors include a son John "Johnny" W. Edwards, III and wife Paula, Cunningham, TN; a daughter, Elizabeth "Bess" E. Stratton, Neptune, TN; sister, Hazel E. Goodlett, Clarksville; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Wyatt, Katherine Miller, and John Riley Edwards; three great-grandchildren, Steven Tyler Stratton, James Maximus Miller, and Kipling Rhodes Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be John Goodlett, Collier W. Goodlett, Charlie Crow, Chris Crow, Lane Lyle, and Ken Spiceland.
