Obituary

Edward L. Kelley, 77, of Sandown, NH died Sunday April 11, 2010 at Greenbriar Terrace HealthCare, Nashua, NH. He was born in Sandown, NH on July 15, 1932, son of the late Richard and Ida (Normandeau) Kelley. Mr. Kelley graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry where he attended school with Alan Shepard. He served in the US Army and later the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. While serving in the Air Force, he became highly skilled at “in combat” repair of aircraft equipment. He enjoyed being outdoors, cutting down trees and chopping wood. He also loved music, dancing, tinkering on cars, washing and restoring them.
He is survived by five sons, Louis E. Kelley, Dennis W. Kelley, both of Colorado, Stephen D. Kelley of Nashua, NH, Robin H. Kelley of Indiana, Shawn M. Kelley of Sandown, two daughters, Linda M. Elwell of Colorado, Lisa N. Kelley of Northwood, NH, 16 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, three sisters, Louise Kugler, Kathy Kelley and Theresa Rennie all of Maine, two brothers, Norman Kelley of California, David Kelley of Vermont, also several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Thursday April 15, 2010 from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services were held Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial with honors followed at the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
