Annette Hardin Thompson, 84, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, April 14, at Arbor Baptist Church with Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thompson was born June 6, 1925 in Hawkinsville, Georgia to the late Albert H. and Goldie Grimsley Hardin. She lived in Fitzgerald most of her life, graduating from Fitzgerald High School in 1942 and was a former resident of Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Thompson was former co-owner of Colony Cleaners, former Bookkeeper/secretary for Halperin’s Department Store and Fitzgerald Water, Light & Bond. She was a member of Arbor Baptist Church.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband: Orvil E. Thompson, Sr. of Fitzgerald; daughters & sons-in-law: Sherry A. & Bill Seabrooke of Austin, TX and Susan E. & Derek Munroe of Fitzgerald; son & daughter-in-law: Chip & Beverly Thompson of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Christopher & Cindy Munroe, Duane & Jennifer Munroe, Wendy & Steven Herod, Skip Seabrooke, Michael Seabrooke, Trey & Jessica Thompson, Buck & Heather Thompson and Matthew Norris; 7 great grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law: Gerald & Gladys Hardin of Fitzgerald; sister: Ruth Moran of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Thompson Norris Ryan.
