Catherine F. (McCarthy) Estrella, 86, of Derry, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 8th, 2010 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry.
Catherine was born, raised and educated in Boston, MA. She was employed with the Boston State Hospital for most of her career until her retirement. In her free time, Catherine enjoyed singing, dancing, taking trips to Las Vegas and Foxwoods, and spending time with her family.
She leaves three children, Carole Estrella of Salem, NH, Joseph Estrella of Savannah, GA and Lawrence Estrella of MA, a daughter-in-law, Linda Treglio of Salem, NH, a brother, John McCarthy and his wife Ruth of Wilmington, MA and a sister, Dorothy Garafano of Braintree, MA, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Friends are invited to gather from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 at the Goundrey and Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH. A Memorial Service in Catherine’s honor will follow at 2 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
