Obituary

Harold Floyd Watson, 83, of Walpole, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at Caritas Norwood Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Nancy L. (Johnson) Watson to whom he married in 1951.

Born in Norwood on January 7, 1927, he was the son of the late Harold J. and Inez (Lockhart) Watson.

Mr. Watson was a resident of Walpole since 2005 and formerly resided in Foxboro.

Mr. Watson was a WWII Navy veteran. He served for 1 ½ years, attaining the rank of Seaman First Class and received the WWII Victory Medal, the American Area Medal and the European African-Middle Eastern Area Medal.

Before his retirement, Mr. Watson was a driver for the former Levitz Furniture, formerly J. Homestock Furniture, for ten years. He had previously worked at Bird & Son, Inc. in Norwood for many years.

Mr. Watson loved to garden, enjoyed reading, and was an avid Red Sox fan, but most of all; he cherished the loving company of his family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Robert Watson of Onset, Diane Marvelle and Donna Watson, both of Walpole and Brian Watson and his wife, Kimberly of Plainville.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth Watson of N. Carolina, five grandchildren, Christine and Michael Marvelle, Lindsay Migala and Benjamin and Kylie Watson and three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Logan and Brendan.

He was the brother of the late Robert Watson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday, April 13 at 1 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
