Mrs. Peggy Jean Ledford, age 69, of King, widow of the late Donald Ledford, Sr. passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010 at Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
Mrs. Ledford was born in Forsyth County on May 4, 1940 to Mozelle Grimes Rose and the late Raymond Rose.Mrs. Ledford loved spending time with her family; she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Peggy loved helping people which led her to her career as a nurse’s aid at Baptist Hospital. Peggy was of the Baptist Faith.
Mrs. Ledford is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey and Cheryl Ledford of Pilot Mountain, Raymond Eugene Ledford of Booneville and Joyce Ledford of Pinnacle; two daughters and son-in-law, Marie and Gary Bowen of Pinnacle and Teresa Mendenhall of High Point; 15 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Mrs. Ledford was preceded in death by her husband, father, and one son, Donald Lewis Ledford, Jr., and grandson, Raymond Eugene Ledford, Jr. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Cox-Needham Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Onnie Langley officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1-2 at Cox-Needham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home in Peggy’s Memory to 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to express their appreciation to Kate B Reynolds for their loving care of their mother and family during this trying time.
