New Bedford- Shirley Ann (Cabral) Fareas aged 74 years died Friday April 2nd at Sacred Heart Home with her loved one presence. Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Norman R. Fareas who passed on March 24th. She was loved mother of Russell and his wife Sharon Fareas of Fairhaven, Kenneth and his wife Tina Fareas of New Bedford, Mark Faraes and Kathleen Fareas both of Fairhaven. Shirley was the sister of Natalie Frias and Eileen Medeiros both of Dartmouth. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Fareas was the daughter of the late Joseph and Suzanne (Ponte) Cabral. She was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident of Fairhaven. Shirley worked as a caregiver at Our Lady’s Haven in Fairhaven.
In accordance with her wishes she were cremated. A celebration of Norman and Shirley’s life will take place at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Visitation will take place Sunday from 6-8 P.M. A donation in their memory can be made to the family.
