WEST BOYLSTON-Rita A. (Stockwell) Landry, 87, of West Boylston died on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. She was born in 1922 in Worcester Mass, the daughter of Mary J. (Russell) and Ronald F. Stockwell.
She attended schools in Worcester and after high school graduation served in the Coast Guard during World War II, being stationed in Norfolk, VA. She was proud of her service and of being a veteran. After returning to Massachusetts she met and married Norman A Landry, and they moved to Holden where they lived for over 30 years and raised three children. Rita enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and dining out. She was an avid fan of both the Patriots and the Red Sox.
She was predeceased by her brother, Harold Stockwell, and sister, Dorothy Stockwell. She is survived by her three children: son Douglas and his wife, Wendy James Landry of Toronto, son Gary of Pompano Beach, Florida, and daughter Sharon and her husband, Henry Bourgeois, of Kennebunk, Maine. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Valerie Taylor of Holden, Marc Landry of Toronto and Julie Bourgeois of Kennebunk, Maine and her five great grandchildren.
