Obituary

Gregory Kronteres, 82, of New Bedford died Saturday October 18, 2003 at New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Catherine (Jimoulis) Kronteres.

Born in Peabody, the son of the late Demo and Catherine (Hangis) Kronteres, he had lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church.

Mr. Kronteres was the owner of Greg's Restaurant on Pleasant Street in New Bedford.

He was a member of the Quitticus Lodge, A.F. & A.M. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; a son, James Gregory Kronteres of North Dartmouth; 4 granddaughters, Kelly Slack, Maegan Kronteres, Stephanie Kronteres and Jilian Kronteres; a great-granddaughter, Alexa Slack; and a niece, Constance Stephens.He was the father of the late Georgia McDonald and William "Bill" Kronteres, and brother of the late Peter Kronteres and Rose Condos.
