WORCESTER-Eleanor G. Spayne, 94, of Worcester, died Monday, April 5th in the Life Care Center of Auburn. She leaves her son, Robert W. Spayne and his wife Patricia of Norwich, CT; a granddaughter, Attorney Susan Lee Riffe and her husband Christopher; two great grandchildren, Jackson C. and Carys A. Riffe; and several nephews and nieces. Her beloved grandson, Timothy Spayne, three brothers, Joseph, William and Frank Spayne and two sisters, Elizabeth Hill and Mary Tinsley predeceased her.
Eleanor was born in Worcester, the daughter of Patrick and Maria (McGee) Spayne. She was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School. Eleanor was a member of St. Peter’s Church and the Local 170 Teamsters. Throughout her life she supported many charities including the Infant de Prague Society.
The family would like to express a very special and sincere thank you to the caring and compassionate staff of the Gardenia Unit at the Life Care Center of Auburn and a special thank you to her friends, Florence Benoit and Barbara Hopkins, and a very special thank you to her niece, Frances Spayne.
The funeral is Thursday, April 8th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 929 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 AM Thursday.
